Yep, and there's several reason for JR's low sales.

The MoF Set is going to sell out in the next couple days. I like the mint's statement in CW - they said every thing went smooth with the opening day sales. If you call running out of stock in the first hour of sales smooth, you have blinders on. I figure this is the only reason it didn't sell out the first day.

More power to you, friend. I sincerely mean that. Everybody else is making money off these. This is just capitalism at work. While the gravy's flowing you want to be right there with your kisser under the faucet. The big guys are. I'm all for the little guys. They're always trying to shove you out. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's not necessary for you to be rationalizing this as some sort of public service. I mean, that just draws a big laugh. Sort of like, "Good one, you got another one?" Lol.

 

I ordered five sets.......one for a good friend who was out of town and unable to get internet access, one to bust open, one to remain in OGP for the collection, and two to sell if this issue ever catches fire. If it don't then one set will probably become a 'secret Santa' gift this coming holiday season.......

 

If it sells out by this week's sales report and all of the remaining orders stay backordered, that fire may catch very soon after. TC

 

What fire??...Ebay have had already put out the fire. There're plenty for sale.

 

No there isn't. The U.S. Mint struck 48 Sacagawea Dollars in 22kt gold with the date of 2000. These were sent up on a space shuttle and all but 12 were melted. These are about as rare as the 1933 Gold Double Eagle. I don't think the government needs that many for museums. I suspect those will be sold some day. Regardless, those are true rarities worth the title of coin of the century (so far).

Correction: There were 39 and all carry a West Point mint mark.

 

And fools they be, for alas, the offering is still available from the mint.......if you want to wait. Unfortunately, some folks can't wait and that's where the flipper folks come in......capitalizing on the folly.
