OK children, quit your bickering. Here is the official USPS word on the subject: It's called the Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) and it covers everything on the subject of using the USPS. There is NOT ONE WORD regarding the prohibition of mailing counterfeits through domestic mail. https://pe.usps.com/DMM300 On the other hand, there is ONE reference to counterfeits being illegal to mail in the International Mail Manual (IMM) covering international mail sent from the US. It's Section 136.3 in the manual (https://pe.usps.com/text/imm/welcome.htm) and it reads: 136.3 Counterfeit and Pirated ItemsAny type of counterfeit or pirated article is prohibited in outbound international mail.
