...this lovely 1964 D Type C Reverse Washington Quarter. Don't even care about the reverse staple scratch at 14.5x FV. This marks the 5th Type C I've ever found. Anyone else have any recent luck finding one?
Here is the variety on NGC and PCGS. Basically, they used the reverse dies for the 1965 business strike quarters a bit early. Much, much tougher to find than the Type B's.
Here are the three types: A (normal business strike reverse die up to 1964) B (proof dies; found on some business strike coins from 1956-1964) C (business strike for 1965, found on some 1964 D reverses)
Thank you, sir! I'll put it right next to this other junk silver rescue (although, I like to think that maybe they rescued me... (cue pretentious laugh)
You dawg!!! I've been searching for one of those for just over a year. I have yet to find one. Nice score.
I see the photos. What is the difference between the Type C and the normal 1964 business strike? ( thank you) Because I have some 1964 quarters that I can reexamine.
