I am new to the world of repunched mint marks and came across this dime. Is this an example of one? It is awfully hard to photograph. Thanks for your thoughts!
Not even close. You need to read up on them so you know what to look for. Early Memorial and Wheat Cents are the easiest coins to look for and find RPM’s.
I've read a few articles on wheat cents and looked at quite a few pictures. Some are very easy to see, but others are not so easy for me. The "D" looked different than other 1963 D dimes I was comparing, so thought I would get some opinions. Thanks for you advice. I will do that.
The '50s wheats have the most. On your dime, do you see how your D is chopped off? Now just think it out. If there are two punches, the top punch should be full. When you see it compromised, that's due to the strike, the planchet slid, bounced, whatever...
