Take all the emails, the posts and the like and email it to Coin world, see if they'd look into it an dany othe rpreferred publications. Email foxnews too. hey do little snippet stories during soem of there shows and it would make more folks realize it. Personally, I may go in and bid a few grand on every crook, ninny and A$$ on ebay then let them shut down my account

It would be easy enough to create bogus Ebay accounts, and then use these accounts to bid on whatever coins this person is trying to sell........

zane, not sure if you saw my reply in this post. Unfortunately this seller has been doing this for years. When she gets NARU'd (not a registered user), she comes back with a new id. Check google for the "savannah scammer".

I feel bad that I am the 666th person to view this so I better contribute. What reccommendations do you have for the formation of a solidified and united front? I have ideas, some gray area all diabolical, but it is an all or nothign thing.

Nevst, thanks for the info. I'm still in shock that I was banned from ebay, for not paying for a outright counterfeit.

I tried to call ebay to get this resolved, but unfortunately ebay does not have a contact number. Sigh. Ebay is the pits.

You really wanna do something about this ? Then publicize it - call your local newspaper's consumer protection desk. Call the morning TV shows - heck call the National Enquirer. And then get all the other folks you can find to do the same. The media will eat it up like candy.

Betcha eBay will do something then ;)

Zane, I was gonna stay outta this, but what the heck. There is gonna be one rule though - this time I aint gonna do it, unh uh, no way, not me, aint gonna happen, been there done that got 3 T-shirts and wore two of 'em out !

But if you got the cajones to follow this through and push it yourself, I'll help to tell ya how to go about it ;) But be ready my young friend, you're about to bite off more than a mouthfull :kewl:

I got through to eBay on this number 1-866-696-eBay (3229) some time ago, it is investor relations. They connected me to customer service. I think you want to talk to the legal department, the head is a former US Attorney they hired away from the Government for big bucks. Have your notes ready young guy, have proof this counterfeit seller is a scammer that they have booted before. I for one support you and it seems like a lot of others here do to. Now that you have the phone number feel free to call when ever you like. If they think you are harassing them at least you will hear from someone in the legal department:pencil:

Is there a way we can form a united front with this 5000 member forum. A poll with a few thousand people voting in favor of zaneman and against eBay. It think it would take the cooperation of the owner of this forum who had everyone's email address to mail them and tell them there is an important poll and their opinion is needed. Then someone would have to condense these happenings into a few paragraphs to tell the story if people did come to vote.

    Zane,

I don't have any good advise for you but I'm with everyone else that is ready to help with voicing out right disgust with the way that e-bay deals with matters of this type.

Someone should lead the way and tell us what organizations to write/e-mail to inorder to be most effective. 5000+ voices should be heard. Unfortunatly one voice - yours - would most likely be ignored.

E-bay has turned into such a --it hole for doing coin business that I just look anymore and do alot of laughing. It used to be fun and I used to get some good deals, but those days are gone.

Hats off to you for taking a stand. I hope with the help of honorable coin people, both here and where every we can find them, we can get your problem resolved. Even better we could possibly get coin trading on e-bay cleaned up, some what, maybe.

I haven't bought a coin on ebay for over a year and now I have decided to stage my own little boycott and never buy again. It will have absolutely no impact on ebay but at least I will feel good doing it, and save some money at the same time. :)

ZANEMAN, did you say 50k? FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS? If you've got that kind of money to send off for a counterfeit, please send some my way. I would be happy to receive half that much. Please let me know if you want my mailing address.--gunsmoke

More info. than you'll probably ever need to know but worth bookmarking this site!! There might be some help here for you zaneman.

Also, eBay knows that probably 99.99% of the coins from China are counterfeits but they do nothing. The reason it continues, given to one person who wrote to eBay, is that eBay is aggressively working to expand its China market so there will be no action taken. They don't want to jeopardize this market.

Also, as far as the counterfeit designer merchandise sold, (and I know there are several lawsuits by major designers), eBay claims they they are not responsible for authenticating any items, because they never see, feel, hold or examine the items sold on its site but merely provides a forum to match buyers and sellers. That is true but when eBay receives complaint after complaint about counterfeit merchandise, I feel they are obligated to remove those items pending investigation. The problem is that removing items costs eBay alot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ so it won't happen. Basically, eBay is the world's largest marketplace for fake merchandise

Gunsmoke, I definitely don't have that kind of money(I'd have lots to spend on coins!). : ) I simply entered that amount as the max bid, since I had no intention of sending any payment.
