I have not ignored anyone yet but thanks for pointing the existence of the ignore button. Very few threads here get out of hand but once in awhile a troll shows up that becomes unpleasant.

Two things jump out at me where trolling is involved: Preemptive (and/) or persistent hostility. That's when I say, Facebook was Made for you.
Beyond that, there's always a gray area between being a troll in a substantive sense, and having a bad day.
Where opinions in their own right are concerned, I find the diversity here (notably where religion is concerned --when it momentarily leaks) bracing. The only exception I make on that front is (too) thinly veiled racism.

Yes I agree sir. It would be unfortunate and pure stupidity to allow a couple of people to ruin our personal enjoyment of the hobby. The Ignore button is a wonderful way to erase those from our threads and our thoughts... while keeping peace on the forum.

Well, let's face it: we're all pretty geeky, right? I mean, c'mon, not only do we collect ancient coins, but we talk about them and write to each other about them. Talk about harmless . . .

Can't argue with Aristophanes, though some certainly have ignored him:cat:.

Good advice there, OP. I will admit that I have been fired or banned from some sites. None to do with numismatics tho. I have used the ignore button a few times, and also have used the 'unwatch thread' button many times. Most of the CT members are right mellow and well versed in numismatic knowledge, so I enjoy learning more all the time. Some of the so called trolls need...something? Not my job to take care of their problems though. Better to steer clear of any problems on here.

LOL... I LIKE that concept of ignoring yourself. I would enjoy the solitude!

I dunno. I find I talk to myself all the time. It seems I'm the most intelligent and agreeable person I know.

@Bing, been saying that for a minute (please translate, a couple of decades), more along the lines of 'the one guaranteed way to have an intelligent conversation.'
@Alegandron, That's sounding more, um, vaguely religious. (Should I stop now?) From multiple traditions across the face of the globe.

The much rarer Crawford 528 series has some superb portraits of Antony combined with childish ones of Octavian

Does make for disjointed threads at times, but I agree.

Am sure many won't see this message.

I know a lot of people have ignored this... thing, but I really really hope if he’s telling even one iota of truth, CNG will stop selling to him. Shouldn’t be too hard for CNG to cross reference any posts he’s shared detailing purchases with his account, and CNG has employees who peruse this forum.
