Hi all – I'm looking for the release date, on the Gregorian calendar, of the American Gold Eagles. They were introduced in 1986, but I haven't found an exact date. By the way, does anyone recall what the gold bullion market in the US was like before the Eagles were introduced? What did people buy? It seems like it must have been fairly dystopian if there was nothing but ugly coppery Krugerrands with that weird Amish dude on the obv. I think Maples came out in the 1980s, but I wonder if bars were more common or what. Thanks.
I already Googled it, and Ducked it. If you can find the date in the first page of search results, that would be interesting. Otherwise you're making snide comments falsely implying that this can be trivially Googled.
What "snide comments" are you referring to. Your reply to @green18 was kind of snotty. When I Googled it, I found this on the First page: Here's the link to the page: https://www.google.com/search?q=first+day+of+sale+of+1986+us+gold+coin&sxsrf=ALeKk03c3oZAFa5vY44l-X7eqhJPefcISQ:1623468841968&ei=KSvEYPzIOsSUwbkPsfK-gAQ&oq=first+day+of+sale+of+1986+us+gold+coin&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAxQAFgAYN_4DmgAcAJ4AIABP4gBP5IBATGYAQCqAQdnd3Mtd2l6wAEB&sclient=gws-wiz&ved=0ahUKEwi8gYTdlJHxAhVESjABHTG5D0AQ4dUDCA4 EDIT. Found it on my first attempt using Google.
