Just scoped out a 46D wheat in a dunkin donuts tip cup, it's a hole filler for me! Don't worry, I replaced it and then some

I look very quickly for the wheaties but still haven't had the guts to do the switcheroo.

Several years ago the local pharmacy had one of those little clear donation boxes for some animal charity, I spied a 1926 wheatie in there and offered the clerk that I would replace that coin with a $1 bill if she would open the box with the key and let me take that coin only. I felt crazy doing that, but she took me up on the offer and I actually put $2 in the donation box.

Sweet, I'm still looking for my first 1926. What lengths well go to for coins!

5 Lincoln Cents including 4 crummy shield cents. But a
    1937 Wheatie hole filler.
Put the 4 shield cents back in and printed a receipt for the 4 cents and left it on the shelf.

Today my son was going out on a date with his young lady friend and wanted to take her to dinner. Had to take him to the credit union to get some dosh for the date, I went in and checked the reject slot in their coin machine and amongst all the dust, sand, paper clips etc was this thing:

It has been flattened a bit, but the date shows with magnification(not apparent in cellphone pic) as 1865!

Oldest coin machine find ever, couple of weeks ago found a 1902 cent that had a slight bend in the same machine. The oldest find was an 1898 Barber dime about three years ago.

LOL! I should remember that. I tend to just put boring stuff on the counter for the next person, though. I figure maybe it'll find its way to somebody who really needs it.

One time I had a supermarket employee scoop up the coinstar rejects about 5 seconds before me. She said she puts it in the animal shelter donation jar. I offered to buy the silver (there was at least one dime I saw). She said "no, I keep that..."

Dang! I tried that about a month ago for this beautiful sight.it's a 1962 quarter. Screenshot_2016-08-14-15-40-57.png There was also a wheatie in the box. No cigar on either coin though.
