Went to a store that had 2 Coinstar machines. machine 1: a cruddy penny machine 2: car wash token, 1964 dime
Nice one, silver dime 2 machines, that's cool. I have the regular Coinstar and one that is yellow. I believe it redeems gift cards for a percentage of their value.
I've never found one, either, but it's not the sort of question that's easy to answer. I think it varies by region.
The other day , I dutifully check my favorite Coinstar and come up with a few raggedy memorial Lincolns. But, I see a Green TD coin bank on the nearby shelf, left by a coin dumper. Hmm, I figure I could use it to hold my pre 1982 Lincolns. I throw it in the car figuring to clean it up and dump my Lincolns for safekeeping. I start cleaning it today and notice the side of the plastic bank is seperating. I am about to toss it away, but I press on the edge where it is coming apart and I hear something in the bank. I thought it was a piece of broken plastic, but out pops a 1939 Jefferson nickel. My oldest Jefferson found in the wild so far. Nice Coinstar find.
The Kroger CoinStar this morning had two Zincolns stuck together -- and a 1928 Wheatie. Heavily worn, but I'll take it! (And pass it along, most likely.)
I got few Canadian quarters a game token and a bent penny today first time I ever got change from a regect bin at a bank coin counter
