There's a pretty old-model vending machine at one place I work, and for the past year I've been routinely checking the change slot. Probably made a few bucks that way, but today my ship came in: http://imgur.com/sYBn2dn
A '41 Lincoln residing under the machine, not in the reject slot but feeling alone and unloved at 74 years old until he found his way into my paws and my old coin retirement home.
Came across another reject slot that was practically overflowing with coins - although nothing of collectible value in the pile. Came away with 4.53 in Euros and 47 cents US.
Yesterday after work I popped by the grocery store to get some items for the dinner I made and strolled by the green machine: 2 zincolns 1 Cayman Island 10c 1990 1 Canada 5c 1981 1 USA dime 1959 1 USA dime 1960-D I love the smell of silver wafting out of the reject slot.
At the coinstar at my grocery store, I found a 64 quarter, 68 CAD nickel and a crusty US cent. Pretty happy with the quarter - love free silver.
Found $0.58 US in various change (quarter, dimes, nickels and cents) at the grocery store coinstar today. I'll take it.
Sort of reject slot find, member of the credit union had a 1968-D half that rejected and they turned it into the teller. She was handling the halves when I asked if she had any and I heard that sweet higher pitched sound that whispered "silver". On the downside of the day was dumping a bag of cents in my car, have to get out the shop vac later to clean the tailings out from under the seats.
Today at the grocery store, I paid with my credit card and a single Lincoln cent came tumbling down the change chute. It was a little weird.
A few handfuls worth today from a coinstar. Great Britain: 2 pence and a pound 2 tokens Russia: 1 Germany: 17 including a 2 Mark Finland: 7 Canada: 3 dimes, one is silver, quarter, nickel, and a 1917 large cent US: 1 sac dollar, 11 nickels, 5 quarters, 19 dimes, and 47 cents
Different coinstar today had one handful. Canadian: 1 cent, 1 dime, and 4 nickels US: 4 dimes, 2 nickels, and 7 cents
There was a 1959-D dime in the Coinstar machine tonight. It is in decent shape and has eye appeal. Free silver is cool.
