Don't think I've posted here for a while (I've been off CRH for quite a bit now), but just this week the Coinstar machine at my grocery had $6 in dimes, including 3 silver ones (59, 61D, 64) Happy hunting!
halvessearcher Yes I found a silver dime on the shelf. I assume they tried 4 or 5 times and it kept spitting it out (wrong metal) and they just left it on the shelf. Today 2 clad dimes in the reject slot. Well I just can't leave them there.
Amazing that someone would just leave that many dimes. Great haul, and with 3 silver!!! Thanks for sharing.
I've been dumping at a new credit union, and they have the coin machine like below. It has magnets around the part the coins go in, which is supposed to catch nails and stuff, but of course catches modern Canadian (and other foreign). It's kind of awkward prying them off, but I find a lot of Canadian that way. Today was 3x dimes.
Found 2 silver dimes in he Coinstar yesterday. Both happen to be 1946. First time finding 2 silvers at once. Sill hoping to find a silver quarter someday.
31 cents in the slot. The penny may or may not spend but the other 30 cents are good. There is a bizarre story that is attached to this, but only if the consensus demands it.
Someone was dumping into the CoinStar at Food Lion this afternoon. Either he checked the reject slot, or someone beat me to it -- I glimpsed some stuck-together cents and at least one dime when I passed him, but the slot was empty the next time I came by. Oh, well.
Had a chance to snag some Coinstar rejects on Tues. afternoon. Ran out of cat food for Mr. Squeak. Did a quick run to the local Harris Teeter. 2 beat up zinc cents, a washer, a small silver plated charm, a slight greaser zinc cent and a MAD dime. Kat was not impressed, "Is not food, you keep funny stuff. Now more kibble, hooman." Slight greaser on reverse MAD on obverse The whole haul
3 dimes in the slot. I didn't look I just scooped it and put it in my watch pocket and figured it was 2 or 3 destroyed brownies. I forgot about them, and pulled them out on my walk and was surprised to see 3 good clad dimes. I've found worse.
4 double glueys on the shelf. Soaked in warm water for 5 minutes, 8 cents soon to be reintroduced to their natural environment.
Finally a coinstar score today. No silver, but $7.37 USD and $1.95 CAD. Had to soak off some old sticky rubber bands.
That should hold you over till the next coinstar find. Any 1999 2000 Canada quarter coins. That’s the only Canada book I have. And I need plenty
