My bank`s coin machine had this in it today when I dumped my change. I know it didn't come from my bag.
The wife checked today... 1 quarter 8 dimes 1 nickle 17 cents Australia 20 cents GB 5 pence 5 tokens ... all in a coinstar
ROFL @ the vintage Charlie Brown GIF. Getting a rock would be an improvement over 95% of my finds (or lack thereof).
With 9 lives, Meow has ample time to shake off this bad streak and do what Meow does best.......find the goodies. The power of the mind sure is astounding. About a minute prior to checking a Coinstar, I always take a good minute to visualize a handful of coins in that returns slot. You can't do it half-ass or you are just wasting your time. Really envision that machine yielding a nice batch of coins and take note of your improved rate of Coinstar success.
Meow thinks the machine is keeping all the good stuff for itself. Must have been upgraded recently to not give away prizes as much as they used to. It is because of the economy being in a poor state?
I have been thinking for a while, now, that store management has the employees check their machines periodically. It has been a dry run for me too. Having said that, about a month ago I got an AU 1951 quarter out of a Coinstar.
The machines here have been out of service for months due to 19. Another reason the coin supply is so low at banks. Now I was one of those who wasn't so proud to reach in and grab a hand full of coins.... However now my question is why would you? NOW in the middle of a pandemic....sorry no coin is worth getting this crap. And since there's no hard edvience to prove how long the virus last on any surface only speculation. So be my guest I dont need a coin that bad that would or could make me or my wife sick....not worth it.
Even the occasional trip I make to the grocery does not entail checking the Coinstar these days, solely for this reason.
Im in several stores every day...like I said most have been locked down, as well coffee grinders, water fountains, all locked down as they should be...just not worth the chance.
More for meeee! With all the groceries and produce I touch that's been 'fondled' and probably sneezed upon by countless others, I figure the rare appearance of a Coin Star reject isn't putting me at any more of a measurable risk. YMMV And I do use hand sanitizer immediately after retrieving any CS finds.
My local Safeway changed the machines location. It used to be against a back wall, away from any traffic, but now it is right on the main aisle so EVERYONE passes right by it.
3 Well I don't know where you live or shop...but it does not roll that way here. Youll be shown the door for any misbehavior in store. Including not wearing a mask and handling product more than Necessary. Im in stoes daily and have seen customers bounced out . The stores here only one door in and one way out, with staffers maning the doors doing customer count. And enforcing any policy in place. I've seen it first hand we dont play....and you can have all those coins and the 19 on them!
