I suspect that employees frequently check the reject slots at the two neighborhood stores with Coinstar machines, as the only thing I have found in more than a year was a single Roosevelt dime.

My dump was not going into the sifter smoothly at the Penny this weekend so I took out the sifter and started dumping them direct. They were getting all jammed in the slot you pour into. I should have realized what the problem was but did not until I made it to the next dump bank. I was having the same problem there. The coins were getting hung up on all of the foreign stuff that was collecting on the magnet from other customers. I pulled a few steel pennies and about $2.50 worth in Canadian dimes and quarters.

One of my better scores since these machines love to accept silver coins which leaves me with just foreign stuff I pull from the magnet.

A silver dime caught the corner of my eye when I was picking up some groceries. Then I saw a bunch of gray colored coins in the coinstar reject slot with the dime.

$0.55 in Canadian, then the teller asked me for $0.15 to make an even number for the ticket I was cashing out. I told her I only had Canadian and she took it and said she'll give to some other unsuspecting customer....love it!
