Most of my finds recently have been on the grill. Like this coin. It's a 1 baht from Thailand. It is cupro nickel worth 3.3 cents and the date range is 1986-2008.
Last week: 2 Canadian quarters Today: a grimy penny left on the counter. Almost didn't look at it but it turned out to be a 1920 (P) wheatie
Big handful of mostly foreign, a couple rotting Zincolns, a 1971 US quarter, a dime, and some miscellaneous foreign. There was a 2-Euro and a 1-Euro bimetallic, I did snag them; might send them back with one of our Irish visitors, if we get any more of those before Brexit...
I found $0.90 plus a silver Roosevelt Dime in the local Walmart's Coinstar this afternoon. This is my first silver Roosevelt Dime since July.
This is a first for me, a proof Kennedy in the coinstar tray. Do people not know the reject tray is there when they cash coins? Good for us bad for them
I always wondered what kind of person walks away. My two best hauls: 50 SILVER Roosevelt dimes. An entire roll's worth of silver, approx $60 melt value Around $24 in loose change. I suspect there might have been a mechanical problem because money just kept pouring out. Hard to imagine who would leave a literally FULL reject tray alone.
I've found 2 full reject slots. And a couple other semi full ones. But I believe those days are over once they have completed reworking all the machines.
Found a CAD nickel and silver 10 cent (1961) coins and one USD clad 10 cent at the local Walmart coinstar last night.
You mean reworking them to display a reminder about checking the reject slot? I think there will always be people who don't read the notice.
Besides that I believe they have fixed some internal issues as well. It was good while it lasted. I find more coins on top of the grill. (Inside left hand corner which is the least visible spot) then in the reject slot.
What town & county are your Irish visitors from? Just curious, I love to hear anything about Ireland. My great great grand parents emigrated from County Sligo.
Our corporate HQ is in Craigavon, County Armagh (Northern Ireland, not Irish Republic). Just south of Lough Neagh. (I've never been over myself...)
.08 cents (and 2 cents earlier) and a religious medallion. .12 on Tuesday ALL in the slot, breaking my honey hole grill streak.
taking coins from a coinstar is theft! bent, broken, damaged or whatever they belong to the establisment that houses the machine
