New to the group... Took a minute to figure out what a Zincoln was (too funny) I'm doing collections on most US coins. Learned that Canada stop making pennies in 2012. So I started a collection on that also. I have most of them but King George V is going to be a challenge and I live in Michigan. I learned a lot about CoinStar though lol.
Meow has found a big pawful of coins in the coinstar today. 26 coins total, no silver unfortunately. Four 1 yen, 100 yen, Two Canada dimes, Philippines 10 centime, New Zealand 10 piece, A 2 and 5 euro cents, Australian cent and four 5 cents, Two US dimes, 9 US Pennies, two pennies are stuck together, and one is a steel cent. Must have been from a very worldly traveler Meow thinks.
I found these in a generic coin sorting machine at a local store. They are well-worn but hey, it's free silver. This is the first Walking Liberty half and the first Mercury dime I have found in circulation. This might be my best "Coinstar" find yet
The foreign silver has eluded me, as my 1968 Canadian was not the 50% kind. But I have pulled a silver war nickel, 2 Mercury dimes, a 40% half, 6-7 quarters, and around 30 Rosies. But the magic is drying up. The are killing the game. It's been getting tougher to make awesome pulls.
My latest Coinstar find last week was 2 mercury dimes stuck together. Used to find a lot of stuff in the Coinstar machines but hardy any recently. Either more people are checking them or the machines are rejecting less.
Same here. CoinStar is all dried up. Apparently there's now a message on the screen that alerts the user to check the reject tray
I use to get a lot of stuff especially Euros. Always cashed a big bag full every 6 months at the coin show. Haven't found very much at all in the last 3-4 months. Something has changed in the last 4-6 months.
Come on furryfrog, take the tissue out of the chute. LOL That's one heck of a haul. Nice find even if not all US coins.
