The other day there was a quarter on the shelf with a little dried gum. Removed easily. Today there was a penny and my 2nd Coin Star Merc in the slot. Ca-ching.
TY. I had it on my CS bucket list, I didn't expect to get one, but I read that other people did, so I knew it was possible. About a year ago I got a 1929. And now this one. I've never gotten a foreign silver so that's on the list now. I thought I had a 50/50 Canadian dime one time, but it flew out of my hand across the room and stuck to a refrigerator magnet.
I recently found a beat up Canadian quarter in the CS that had a chance at silver, but it too stuck to the magnet.
You put it inside like a folded over leather belt, and smack it around with a rubber mallet. When I dig out my other ones I will photo them. The one from today is on the right. I forgot to put a regular one in for comparison.
Don't really check the reject slots. But today it was noticeably full. 112 pennies and 2 nickels. Everything Canadian. Only things of note were two George VI pennies (both 1952), and one centennial (1967)
MS Canadian quarter in the slot, Texas cent on the shelf. Although this cent is just slightly larger, a Montana cent.
every time i get to mine, the most i ever find are 2-3 really beat up zincolons. there really never is anything because the homeless man in fremont empties it out early in the morning
Am I missing something, or is the reject tray only the small 3x3 inch compartment a couple feet off the floor? Is there someplace else I should be checking?
Nothing in the Coin Star. I was grocery shopping at Wally World and this was in the self serve change cup:
I had the same thing happen, I noticed when change drops, it hardly makes a noise in these change machines.
Some people leave it there on purpose (pennies). They know it's there and don't want to be bothered. Others just forget. Before they took out the self serve at my old grocery, I was constantly finding dollar bills and even 5's that people would leave behind.
