Thanks, calishield... nice to be back! That's why I said "this is not the end of the story" at the end of my message. What I neglected to tell everyone is that the coins in the reject bin looked lighter in color than usual. I put my hand in and heard THAT sound... you know THAT sound! It took me a full four scoops to get the 79 coins out... 71 of the coins turned out to be silver! It felt like I was living in a dream. My unexpected early Christmas present! That's the same thing they said on the other board I like to frequent. There are eight Coinstars within about a 5 mile radius of me, and I like to visit all of them at least 1-2x a week. There are three of them within a mile and a half, and I visit those almost daily. This find came out of one of the three frequently visited ones. So I guess my persistence paid off... A little luck and good timing also helps. I'm just glad I had it in my mind that morning to get to the store early to beat the crowds who would be there to get last minute Christmas gifts.
Awesome score. I have a similar score in April 2016 at my grocery store Coinstar, but mine was $11 face value in silver quarters. Here are most of the coins:
WOW! I thought I was alone in this... good to see that someone else has had similar fortune. Like me, you got a Standing Liberty Quarter. I also see a 1938 sitting there - that's a hard to find year from any mint.
Foreign lode today. Although there was a quarter. Too bad I can't cash in the English pound coin ($1.36) and the 1.05 in Euros ($1.27).
Have not found anything in the past two weeks, I think everyone cashed out for Christmas and nothing now.
In the reject slot at the bank's coin machine: 1 clad quarter 1 grimy zinc cent 1941 wheatie (banged up) 2003 Brazil 10 centavos 2015 Peru 5 centavos
OK this is just awesome. First I thought I just found 50 cents, a Canadian dime and a Russian coin. (Pictures of the Russian coin, please identify. It could be Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, etc.) So I am noticing the 1982 quarter seemed to be very shiny, so I checked it out. IT IS COUNTERFEIT! COOLEST THING EVER! It's a little heavy. 5.9 grams. Also a nice reverse die crack vertical from 6 o'clock. I have a better pic of it.
