GF brought home this 1959 from the Starbucks drive thru. It's road rashed, but free silver is free silver.
Trip to the bank at lunch to pick up another box of nickels. While there, checked the reject tray of the coin counter machine and found this: Top row: Canadian 2000 "ingenuity" quarter, 2000 dime, and a 1978 nickel Bottom row: Columbia 2015 100 pesos, Detroit Transportation Token, and a 2004 East Caribbean States quarter.
Nothing worth a photo. nickel and a penny penny and a penny ( one on the grill) nickel and a penny Things have been calming down here after a very good 2015 and 2016. Although I did find some scores this year. Silver nickel, proof quarter, silver quarter, some silver dimes, a couple dollar coins and some wheaties. Also an interesting 1937 2 mils Kansas tax token, as well as a 1957 20 centavo. It's just that in previous years I had several FULL slot finds. Where the slot was just jammed full of coins. On the dollar coins, one is a 1999-D Sacagawea only 11 million minted, and the other is an MS Taft dollar only 3 million minted, and a 2011-D Grant.
I have been lucky in only one of the Coinstar machines near my house, and both times there was a silver Dime in the reject place. The first was a 1964 in pretty decent shape, the second time yielded me a 1942 Mercury... also in decent shape. The second visit also brought forth a Mexican coin that has a white color on the outside with a bronze colored insert. It's a $1 coin dated 2012.
My brother & I have gotten a couple of silver Rosie dimes. In the last 6 months, there's been nothing in the Coinstar machine. Thanks,
Gazed at the machine on the way into the store - nothing. On the way out - overflowing with change. 1948 dime 9 cents common US 1 Canada dime 2 Australia 5 cents Trinidad and Tobago 25 cents Bahamas 10 cents 24 x Euro 5 cent 2 x Euro 2 cent 1 x Euro 1 cent 2 "Apple Amusements" tokens
I disappeared for a while for personal reasons, but am finally back now... 4 days ago I had quite the amazing Coinstar find... I went to the store early in the morning, and the one machine's reject bin was full of dimes and quarters... to the tune of $13.65! 41 Quarters and 34 Dimes... There were also three British coins, and a German coin... and believe it or not this is not the end of the story...
