Hi folks , I was wondering if anyone knows anyone legit that can take about 3 hand fulls of jewelry and smelt the gold and silver and plat, And such for me for a fee of course. I contacted one company and they wanted a hundred dollars but would not return my metals , they would buy? And he said he did not think I had enough for me to do it that way. Or he said we could trade for a cheaper gold Shot or something of that nature. Also I know a guy with a 50lb box of 30% silver solder That could be bought am I right thinking that that would smelt to about 16 pounds of Silver worth over $8500.00 Or am I completely wrong here in my math? Try RMC2 (Republic Metals Corporation Two) in Miami. Your problem is most refiners don't deal directly with the public unless the quantity is sufficient. They prefer working with dealers who can submit and amass enough product. Hand fulls of jewelry as you described, probably doesn't have the kwt or grams necessary to make it feasable. You could always contact them and see what they say. Perhaps they can even give you a referal, to one of their customers who can help you.
