I have three different Slabbed Redfield Coins, Red, Black and PCGS labeled Redfield. I have never seen a Green Redfield slab, why don't you take a picture and Post it?
Yes please, post a picture of it if you can. Most people have never seen a green Redfield or green Paramount holder. I had images of both of them in my book, but unfortunately with black-and-white images.
There was a picture of a green one in a CU thread a couple years ago, but unfortunately the pictures been lost since it was hosted on photobucket who started charging everyone. Looks like the poster didn’t pay and can’t blame them for not paying.
Thanks, nice article. I'm still curious if there are authentic Redfield dollars in holders with out the Paramount on the insert, see photo.
Oh, good....I guess that means you can see it. For some reason, I couldn't show it on my PC but I think I'm having an Adobe/PDF problem as I don't think I would have saved it months ago if I couldn't have seen/read it.
Yes that is a real Redfield dollar. That was the holder they used for coins that they didn't feel were Mint State. There are 10 different varieties of Paramount holders. (I miscounted earlier in the thread) Black Redfield with no grade (No Paramount) Black Redfield MS-60 Black Paramount MS-60 Black Paramount with MS-60 altered to 63 with blue labeling tape before sealing Red Redfield MS-65 Red Paramount MS-65 with Paramount International Coin Corp all the way across the bottom Red Paramount MS-65 color is lighter and Paramount International more compact ending 1/2 inch from both edges. Red Paramount with MS-65 altered to 67 with red labeling tape before sealing Green Redfield MS-65+ Green Paramount MS-65+
Paramount...what a name....David Akers worked there in the 1970's after serving in Vietnam.....Paul Wittlin, their European buyer, brought all those Double Eagles back from Europe. Wish I could have met those guys.
