The pic is just a bit blurry. Did you take a good look at the M in
Monticello ? The F and E in five also ? Red book shows a DDR for the
    39'...thanks.....martha

You don't get one like that out of circulation, WITH DD'ing (I don't; if you do, go buy a lotto ticket).

Mine is not; just a flipper / keeper.......

Notice that the ddr isn't only on Monticello but really seen on five cents.

Super clean one. That’s been in a collection for most of its life. I got a 39 not too long ago but looked more like collecting nuts. I don’t know where it is. May be in my change bucket as I only pull war nickels

I pull all pre-1960, though I know keeping those late-'50s pieces is pointless since they're really not worth more than face value in the typical grades I find 'em in.

I pull copper cents and pull silver but never really paid much attention to nickels unless I get a buffalo

No there's no market for them......hell I've got two complete ms sets no value in them .....the major varieties of the series are on a down hill trend for over 5 years Now!
If you're in the market for some top varieties in the Jefferson series now is the time to buy. As their prices are down.....

I also keep all pre 60s nickels. @nuMRmatist good looking nickel

    I maybe wrong but...

is that a 39 with a 40 reverse? It looks like it from the left handside of the steps is block shape strongly and what steps you can see is straight then norm...

Thanks. I'm not sure on '40 Reverse part; do I need to take another pic?

And yep - probably just got 'liberated' from a collection. Wish I'd seen it when I got it, to see if more were in cashier's drawer.

35 years ago, at Fosdick's Seafood Greenville NC, I got 2 (TWO) Silver Roosies in change. HEART STARTED RACING. I got 47 more from cashier (1 'got away), AND 2 rolls SOLID Silver Roosies for FV.

    I also keep pre-'60 Jeff's; I guess most aren't worth .10 tho'...

So mine is, or is not '40 Rev ?
