not a good ideal that would bring way to many people here for the wrong reason just to win or win and make profit

What you do on kickstarter is your business until you bring it to CT and then it is ours. I would consider it as self-promotion, and delete it.

Why are you trying to skirt the forum rules? It is efforts like this to slip under or around them that has focused attention on the contest section. Is it you want a "big time" contest, but don't want to be the prize provider? Doug has told you how it could be, so do it that way.

    Welcome to the forum.

im not trying to skirt the rules, im trying to understand, and i wont understand until i ask and are answered. i am not trying to undermine CT, i was just asking to it so i would know. i would love to throw a contest sometime, and therefore it would be good to know what would be acceptable. i did not know if kickstarter would come under this as it is a volunteer donation project and not a pay-to-enter contest phase.

i appreciate the fast answer, but it would be nice if people didn't straight away asume questions like this is some atempt to con CT

I think kickstarter would be against the things CoinTalk is for. An individual (you?) is soliciting money for someone else...sounds like it's against the rules at this forum. I will report someone trying to "kick start" whatever entrepreneurial venture they're after, so please take that for whatever it means to you.

No it would not be. At least not on Coin Talk. What you do elsewhere, that's up to you.

The part of that I see not going over very well is trying to get people to go to Kickstarter to donate money. We'd probably have 100s of complaints about that if you posted somewhere on CoinTalk soliciting people to join a Kickstarter.

The definition of "contest" here appears to be synonymous with sweepstakes where to enter, there is no fee. There are different forms of auctions which is a way to buy or sell goods or services where a set price is not established. I know one type of auction is often used for buying produce. Potential sellers place a bid and the buyer picks the lowest bid.
