They were a pretty pricey coin back in the 1950's and into the early 1960's - look at old Redbooks. Most of them were bought up in rolls and saved when they were issued so that many never made it into actual circulation. In a similar vane very few 1844 seated liberty dimes were minted - only 72,000 - but seemingly many of them were saved and hoarded at that time so that they were never usually found in circulation. They are about as common as their contemporaries in better grades, probably a bit more so, but the stories surrounding the Little Orphan Annie Dime persist and drive up demand and prices for them. Deja vu feeling since we had similar thread i posted the same coins anyway my rarest coin acquisitions of this year This coin is rare date 1975 mintage is supposedly less than 150 to date this is only one i have seen. The other coin is Turkey FAO 1979 Coin with mintage of 1500.
I've got a three way tie, all Conder tokens Shropshire 13bis (no picture) Warwickshire new obv, rev of 349 And Middlesex new obv, rev of 916 in silver All three of these are currently unique.

Sweet ! Got me to thinking about an old pool hall token I found years ago doing a remodel of a house. Inside a wall was the token that was from Stoups Billiards, San Jacinto, Calif. I tried to track it down through the San Jacinto historical society and the city hall business license records to no avail. Makes one wonder if that just might be one of the last ones to survive ? I really like the pic of the ride on the token !
