I've seen collections that make me feel like less than a fish egg in a huge ocean. Check out the Subway Token Collection of classic commemoratives. My guess is that almost all of those coins are worth at least a significant fraction of what my entire collection is worth. Based on the asking price, the average per coin is definitely several times what my collection is worth.
Should be proud. I admire the dedication towards your favorite type! What's next, though...? Might need a new username and avatar soon!!
Thanks, Evan. Just going to appreciate what I have. I have no intention on selling. I do like Morgans and Standing liberty quarters but they will be collected on a much more casual basis. I'm not going to do another full set. Time to just kick back and relax. It's nice being able to buy coins, at my leisure, rather than feeling pressured to complete a set.
Love that toning on the reverse, worth being reckless over, glad it worked out - an incredible looking coin!
ow wow let’s see I need my 20’s and my branch mints for the teens and a few branch mints from the 30’s. Get distracted with other things that catch my eye sometimes LOL
You sound like a good candidate for a type set. The 7070, optionally with the gold page, is a fun collection you can complete in a nice grade for way less than your ‘21, ‘21D, or future ‘21S. Civil war tokens are also fun, available, and affordable.
Nice Walker! My set is missing only the 1921 Denver. Most of the coins were plunked out of pocket change many decades ago, I added the missing third minus the key coin. I’ll get it eventually! Edited to add: the plunking out of pocket change was done by my Wife’s late Grandfather, who would be just tickled pink if he knew 1. That they’ve become more valuable than face, and 2. That I picked up where he left off and am trying to finish his sets.
