I agree to many years of dead presidents ,they deserve their place in history & on currency but a few series of colorful notes with old vignettes would be nice.The "Green Back" could still remain on the backs.
I remembered viewing and reading this thread recently and really admired these stunning train vignettes and relics of the great era of trains in the US, which has sadly withered away. It's a shame that our network of rail transport has been allowed to fall apart and was pushed out of sight to exist only in the form of freight. Especially while other nations have such high tech and 'greener' technology in trains in constant use. I know this is a PM forum so this is just an fyi for those of you who are also into coins too or just love train imagery. I just wanted to share in case PM folks don't read Coin News or get their email newsletter, that they had this story about the last in the series of Austrian Railway of the Future Silver Commemoratives, a 20 Euro silver coin just issued.
