The subject quarter does sound more like the silver one when dropped on table, however not something I&#039;m 100% confident if silver still. I also did a rare earth magnet test, but the magnet seems to move the same over the silver and clad (at 45 degree angle) so I don&#039;t know if I&#039;m doing it right. Does anyone know of another way to test this thing?</p><p><br /></p><p>Lastly, the proof quarter is very uneven in planchet thickness. One end of is noticeably thinner than the opposite end. Has anyone ever seen this with 1976 proofs? I am also providing a photo of the thickness below. I don&#039;t know if it&#039;s very noticeable in the photo though.
