Just remember, Mama always used to say... ...life is like a box of chocolates....you never know what you're gonna get... So, I take it you've gotta Blue 62 Vette. I've got a stroked 96 LT4 & a stroked 89 TPI. Silver 96 LT4 & Charcoal Grey 89.
If that's an AU I'm a Monkey's... Just to clarify, I never ever believe stated "grading" on eBay or anywhere else. Since it seems like most sellers don't own a copy of Photograde, I start with the assumption that a coin's more than likely than not at least two grades below stated grading. I then examine the coin and, if interested, bid accordingly.
pics of the "1895-O Morgan CH AU" and a Chinese fake It finally dawned on me that the simplest way to post the pics was to provide links to each auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150380556434&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m38.l1313%26_nkw%3D150380556434%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160369145216&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm38%26_nkw%3D160369145216%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1 Whaddya think? As happynewyear88 says in his auction: "Coins are very precise, almost perfect. Your collection of happy, thank you!" Does happynewyear88 do good work or what??
Imo that second coin is a bad counterfeit, the date is not even close to an original '95 O, and the mint mark isn't in the right place. Plus another give away is the denticles and the rim, especially on the obverse.
I'd stay away from ebay on any exspensive coins until you've learned the ropes , but you did ask first and that shows your a smart newbie . rzage
Gracias, Senors Mark y Raider34 I'm relieved that both of you seem to think the first one doesn't appear to be a fake. Thanks for taking a look. Bart
I'm open to the possibility that the first one could be a counterfeit, though from what I can see, it looks OK. But I'm not open to the possibility that the second one could be genuine.
