If all TPGs disappeared tomorrow in my opinion the hobby as a whole would be a lot better off, but maybe that's just me. Even the TPGs would be forced to admit the exist for the sake of coin investing, not coin collecting, and as such they're not really in the business of serving the hobby. I almost never buy slabbed coins if I can help it; the only time I do is if it's a coin that is faked often enough to make it worth paying for authentication rather than grading.
