My grandmother recently past away and I found this in her desk I am wondering what the story is on it and is it worth anything.
S Georgivs Eqvitvm Patronvs Medallion / Medal

One side shows Saint George and the dragon with text in Latin S. GEORGIVS EQVITVM PATRONVS

Second side shows a old ship with text IN TEMPESTATE SECURITAS.

Very old looks to be Gold Plated on top of Lead.

I know its lead by the doing a scratch test.

    Thanks for the help.

Pretty sure it's a religious medal intended to be worn. Used to see them as a kid. Was your grandmother Catholic ?

It probably is Dru, they used to sell them at my church when I was a kid.

Because it's cheap and easy to strike, requires little pressure.
