Question on 1960's coins and their value

I dug through some of my fathers old uncirculated 60's cache of coins. I've noticed not a lot are in good shape except those that are somewhat foggy looking. Strange enough they are from the Denver mint. The Philly's don't look so good but they don't have the cloudiness like the Denver ones. I'm curious of how these coins developed this foggy look and why some didn't. Would this affect their grade if natural, like toning, or is this much worse for the coins? I'm a novice at this so I have to ask. These coins just sit in old boxes and collect dust.

    Thank you,

Well your 69 clad quarter is worth 25 cent's. However the 69,s & 68 Kennedy Halves are 40% silver so at todays market rate for silver they are at least worth melt which is around
    2.75$ EACH

Is that weird or what? The Philly mint coins look foggy from here, but the san francisco mints look sharp, the Denver mint coins are only hazy. Shucks, it's supernatural!
