Question: "markings outlining letters"

If CT regulars could answer without a posting a picture, have noticed a lot of penny's with what appears to be from the die damage with "black lines" going around the building or tops of "In God We Trust" or a doubling around the date and mint mark. Not from coin wrapping machine. I imagine they are caused by worn die, could CT confirm?

Black lines or zinc color lines? Dark greyish.
That's split plating.
