When you search nickel rolls do you loupe every coin for errors or toss some dates / mints straight back and only set aside certain years for closer scrutiny? If so which years and mints do you look at?
You could pick up a cherry pickers guide book and pull known variety dates to the side or give all the coins a good look in hope to discover a new variety. It depends on how much time you have to devote. Have fun!
When roll searching I divide them up by dates and mintmarks. Toss the newer ones into bins and sort those quickly under a loupe looking die cracks, die chips etc. Then I search the known RPM/DDO/DDr under a loupe.
