Some day, a good number of you will be eating crow. I am looking forward to it. :)

OK, since we're talking hypothetical, let's say NGC or PCGS determine their wrong when it goes to crossover

I wish they would grade them.

Hypothetically though if they missed I would expect them to buy it back

But neither would ever slab one as such if they were not 110 percent sure

I doubt that. Out of the thousands of coins I have eaten crow maybe three or four times. Each time it has been a very tasty lesson, well worth the few dollars it cost me.

Maybe it is getting late, and I am losing it, but are you suggesting the grading services encapsulate Carr's pieces and then make a payout if they misattribute another minter's work to Carr?

That is the total opposite of what I'm getting at.... so much so, I didn't even consider what your comment is above a possible option.

I think that your intentions of saving someone in the future from getting ripped off are noble, but do you ever patrol ebay for fake coins ? There is immediate possibility of fraud happening there, all the time spent here, on hypothetical issues could have been used to help people in danger of getting ripped off right now.

Until such time as eBay fulfills its legal obligation to patrol its site and stop being a willing accomplice to the manufacture and sale of fake coins -- and scores of other merchandise -- my concern about Daniel Carr's work is zero. Nada. Zilch. Goose egg.

Oh my gosh, what did I miss? Just went back and read this thread. What a gem!

Oh BTW, Dan, please sign all of your work. Signing your fantasy pieces will protect the hobby and prevent potential fraud from occurring much better than just saying on your website, "don't even think about it."

I've got some excellent recipes with an orange glaze being the front runner but I doubt I'll need any in this case.;)

Many share the same opinion but Dan is not going to do it. Less people would argue or want his product. His sales would go down.

Maybe they will, after eating a lot of crows.

You are correct. But those collectors who like his work would suffer, so the hobby would also suffer in a small way.

Less people may want his tokens, but that's worth it if it protects the hobby.

Tastes like chicken. Lol. Please, no need to wish us harm, just because we have different opinions. The D.C. pieces, cost over $100, they are not some Chinese counterfeit that is completely worthless. As stated earlier, you can find real gem Morgan dollars for less. Anyone spending over $100 for a coin had better know what they are doing, or seek help.
