When looking at pictures of 1998 D in Wexler's the pictures all showed wide AMs so I checked the pictures in the CoinFacts app and it showed wide AMs there to. The 1998 D I was comparing to Wexler's has a close AM. I know I'm supposed to be looking for 98 P wide and 98 S close AM but there's nothing about a 98 D. So I'm wondering if I found something or not since all the pictures I found online and on CoinFacts only show a wide AM? Can someone please let me know have I found something interesting or did they make both wide and close AMs and for some reason they only show pictures of the wide AM for some reason.

On a 1998P and D a CAM reverse is normal on business strikes. So if you have a 1998d CAM this is normal. If I am reading your post correctly you are saying they are showing a 1998D WAM? I didn't know they existed.

The screen shot shows a 1990D not 1998 and yes that is still supposed to be the WAM reverse

Nevermind everyone I hadn't had much sleep the last couple of days due to illness got a few things confused when I was looking up dates. As the youngsters say my bad. Should a 1999 D be close or wide I have both or does it matter?

    a 1999D should be a CAM.

When it comes to WAMs you are looking for 1998-2000P only Circulation strikes.

So if you have a 1999D WAM we would need a photo. Most likely it is caused by a grease filled die as this is quite common and often mistaken for a WAM. There have been no real 1999D WAMs ever found as far as I know.
