I'm sorry as well. I got very defensive and aggressive right away and should have calmed down before replying. I am new to this all as well as new to chat rooms. I'm not sure how any of it works so I so apologize if I seem kinda air headish when it comes to threads/chats.

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

I thought Denver was in Colorado.

    Funny but true:
Years ago, I was driving on Rte. 31 north of Indianapolis. I spotted a road sign that pointed east to "Mexico". As I continued driving north, I came upon another road sign that pointed west to "Paris". I hope that I never have to ask for directions when I'm traveling through Indiana.

Yeah, you'll have to excuse *potty dollar*. He's just a 16 year old kid.

    Hi Mumm13, welcome!

Here's the scoop. all S mintmarked proof presidential dollar coins are struck one at a time in a one step process with a 3 segmented collar. they will have three lines on them, also the lettering always is oriented the same way

Business strike presidential dollar coins are run through an edge lettering machine, and the lettering can be orientated facing the front or the back of the coin. the coin is struck then they are"rolled" through the machine. it's 2 steps, these don't have lines on them because there is no collar just a long die. The business strikes are done that way for speed, while the proof coins are done in the single step for a better finished product.

The 3 segmented collar die for the proof version with the S mintmark looks like this:

The business Strike edge lettering die looks like this, this is one half there's a blank half also the coins are forced through it with pressure and that's how they put the edge letting on the P and D mintmark presidential dollar coins.

I spent a good month trying to remember where I saw this picture of the 3 segmented collar and trying to find it again. it drove me crazy I knew I'd seen it but couldn't find it, and then I had it finally and been waiting and waiting for the question to appear again to post it...

    Work is boring lol

As far as I know the only edge error on the proof President dollars can be found on the 2007 Jefferson. On one press the edge dies were put in the press in the wrong order. Instead of
2007 S E PLURIBUS UNUM IN GOD WE TRUST
    it says
2007 S IN GOD WE TRUST E PLURIBUS UNUM

The number know seems to be small, and I think most people don't even know about it. After it was discovered they made changes to the edge dies so that they can't be put in in the wrong order.
