Queen victoria half sovereign.

    Good evening. I found this 1865 half sovereign today metal detecting in uk.
    My question is could it be a date error it looks like 5 over 7 but I'm not very knowledgeable on this coins . Thank you.

    I would love to see you get some useful information on your incredible find. You have posted this in the "Errors" section. I think you would get better information in the "World Coins" section. I wonder if one of the mods might move this for you?

    I started 5 years ago with t2 I sold that after 4 months was sick of digging coke so got equinox 600 found 2 hoards bronze age axehead hoard and scattered eddy hoard I also found ihc silver pendant that was from henry viii reformation of the church that I recently donated to local museum. Now I use a equinox 900 for last 18 months I had rare gold corrietivati volosis Dumnocoveros stater 50 plusses hammered coins from all periods including richard iii york penny I have also found a 400 bc iron age votive axe pendant that is the only parallel found . Loads artifacts including roman bell early and later silver milled roman brooches and coins .. I have been in treasure hunter magazine twice first time was double spread . If you want proof go to my tiktok or Instagram. My name huntfindsave you will see the video on there with a large mount and victorian penny and tuns more unearthing videos pictures . I have nearly 3000 followers on both .

    It could be a 5 over 7.
    I see Die number 10 on the reverse

    To find that in metal detecting is probably as rare as hitting the lottery! That is at least an AU, and even better when 1865 could be quite a rare date.

    Sadly I don't have a KM book, but I can feel free to say that you've got an awesome coin.

    Does it get a details grade or straight grade? I never found a gold coin before so that's why I'm asking. ??
