As many of you know, I live off of the grid and in my current health state, I have to depend upon kind friends to bring me my supplies and mail. Well, Wednesday, one of those friends brought me all kinds of packages, mostly Christmas gifts from my adopted daughter, and in with all of it, was a letter with the tell-tale envelope from The Quarter Master, so I thought I'd share it with you. Pretty easy one, in my opinion. Arkansas is the only place in the United States that has a diamond field, so, "IN THE ROUGH" makes perfect sense. Also, kudos to The Quarter Master for recycling. He taped the coin to the bottom half of a used Christmas card.
I get to Helena a few times a year and always make a point of buying something from Wayne Miller coin shop
Yep, I got that one, too (with a different counterstamped quarter). If anybody is interested in the Quarter Notes counterstamps, I'm giving away a dozen of 'em on the Quarter Master's behalf.
I would love to have one. I can make believe I am important enough to get one from the Quartermaster himself!
Yes. Living off the grid, in the middle of the forest, for some reason, the United States Postal Service won't deliver to my cabin, so UPS Stores have mail boxes you can rent and then THEY can sign for packages and hold mail and packages for you, for as long as necessary. A good friend of mine owns this UPS Store franchise and I personally know all of the permanent employees and they go out of their way to serve me, so it works out great for me.
Well, the first installment from the QuarterMaster arrived earlier this week and it's time to bump this thread AGAIN! Seems he has continued his earlier works and is in full production the First Quarter (see what I did there) of 2024. Perhaps we can cajole him into updating his "production blog" for the fiscal year 2023 to include a full four "quarters" of production. Anyway, without further ado, here is my first quarter 2024 quarter. These Quarter Notes quarters can be pretty tough to photograph, so I used a bit of digital ink to make the impressions more readable. This South Dakota cryptic message is fairly easy to decode. Some are not as obvious. What is more cryptic was the obligatory QuarterMaster letter and inserts. The note is somewhat disconnected from the quarter and the subject matter was a vintage New England festival. The Quarter Masters letter has me guessing. Anywho, I am sure others have been getting their QM / QN goodies this week. Post yours up as time permits. Eternally thankful to the Quarter Master, Zoid @lordmarcovan
I just took a moment to do the maff on the Quarter Masters endeavors. At the end of 2022 he had placed into circulation or the hands of "esteemed members" of this forum over a quarter of a million quarters. The value of this effort is nearly $70,000 ! ! ! ! ! An that ain't even counting his postage costs . . . . . I know of several "esteemed members" who in the past have received Federal Reserve Notes in the values of $20, $50, or even $100 with their quarters. We are not talking a paltry sum here folks. The Quarter Master is committed (or needs to be from my budgetary POV). Still no one knows, or confesses to know, of his persona or whereabouts? What are y'all's thoughts on the generosity of this kind numismatic enigma? @lordmarcovan ? O Where art thou o distributor of the koin? Z
