Although no overlay was presented, I do see what are most likely light clash marks on the 1976 quarter. Rascal is right that some clash marks can appear raised, but this is mainly because the recessed area around them is not easily perceived. Examples of raised clash marks include the "winter breath" Vermont quarter. A more common example is the raised "flame" that shoots up from the roof of Monticello in nickels. The flame is simply the gap between Jefferson's neck and his queue ("ponytail").
Don't forget Lincoln Memorials. The bays from the reverse show up on the obverse raised. Chris, please don't take offense, as I value your opinion greatly. The "blind horses" on maddieclashes.com are none other than Mike Diamond, Jason Cuvelier, Bob Piazza, Fred Weinberg, and BJ Neff. I think they know their way around clashes. Check it out. It's a great website devoted to die clashes. http://maddieclashes.com
