Get them out of the plastic flips. If any of them have residue from the PVC, soak them in acetone until the residue is gone. Then, put them in cardboard 2x2s or airtites.
Thanks. Some do have a light green tint. There's some lime spots mixed in with some nice toning on one of the Canadian coins. Grrrrrr!!!!!
Acetone will have no effect on the toning. I would soak them all just to be safe especially if some are already showing plastisizer contamination. Do you know how to properly use acetone?
+1. Even if you don't see any pvc contamination, soak them all. Almost every raw coin that goes into my collection gets a soak or rinse in acetone, just in case.
If you are unfamiliar with using acetone, it is relatively simple. If you have coins in PVC, I *strongly* recommend giving them a bath before reholdering. A few years ago, I posted an in-depth series of articles about how to use it. You can find that here: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5536102#Post5536102
