Keyless Chuck Still looking for my keys...

Found an old coin stash I had as a child while cleaning out my fathers house. Quick question, I know that the coin won't make me rich; I would like to know if this is pvc and damage? If so this could be my 1st chance to do a dip! Or... is it just a copper patina? The past 30 plus years it's been a loose coin. Who knows before that though...

Def don't dip! That is verdigris, natural copper patina. The Statue of Liberty is coated in green verdigris. It is usually a mixture of basic copper carbonate and copper II acetate, but sometimes depending on the situation the copper has been in may have some other copper compounds.

I believe that is what it is, but definitely not PVC damage.

Sweet, glad I asked. So the pvc damage is a little brighter green? How can you tell the difference?

Not pvc. Environmental damage. Probably spent a little time in the ground

It's kind of one of those things that the only way to explain it is to see it. Once you have a coin that does have PVC damage you'll be able to tell a difference from that and the environmental damage.
