I would think that all of them would rather become a state for more reasons than 1. Americans are very lucky to have two islands Hawaiian islands and Puerto Rico as vacation destinations that offer a totally different atmosphere than the main land. I haven't been to Hawaii yet...but several times to Puerto Rico . And I must say I loved each time. The last time we came in on a cruise it was a saints holiday... the town just about closed down from traffic. Churches opened to visit. Parades in the streets, just a nice celebration of the island, its people, and thier beliefs. I love the people, the food, the island in general... Barrachina the birthplace of the Pina colda and some of the best food ...plus if you come in from a cruise they will hold your luggage under lock and key while you eat and shop. As most flights out are hours after you depart the ship. Thus you dont need to drag your belongings all over town. Load them up in a taxi to the airport. All for free... You can eat inside or outside and it makes the end of your holiday just perfect!
