Okay, chrsmat ... if we're allowed to post our Ptolemys with only "one" eagle, then I'm gonna add-in a couple more examples to your sweet thread ... hey, they may only have one eagle, but they're still kinda cool ... => here are a couple of sweet ol' Ptolemy IV Philopators (221-204 BC) => sweet belly-buttons, eh?
I have ~10-12 Polemaic bronzes covering most denominations but haven't photographed all of them. Here are some which do have images: A monsterous 48 mm, 91.8 gm of Ptolemy II. Cool provenance too; collected by Professor James Eaton in the 1800s, in his family until I bought it a year or so ago. The above coin with a 5 mm silver fractional from Macdon (monkey on obverse). Hmm, this pictures is much better than the above photo. I should reshoot the entire coin. One of the first Ptolemies I bought, Ptolemy IV, 42 mm, 67.9 gm. I love the patina. These are the seller's pictures with background edited. I need to reshoot my own. Ptolemy II. Elephant skin headdress.
Yes,TIF fantastic, i have your brother coin in #2, have some of that pretty green patina, 92g's what a monster. Sweet...
After seeing all these big Ptolemy bronzes on this thread, I'm not convinced that I need one of them anymore. Rather, I think I need the BIGGEST, HEAVIEST one there is. Otherwise what's the point, eh? Edit: After some financial consideration, I've decided instead to put the smallest one there is on the want list. Nice thing about coin collecting... if you can't go big, going small is always an option.
