ANCIENT EGYPTIAN FAIENCE AMULET. DUAMUTEF (the Jackal). One of the Four Sons Of Horus. Protector of the contents of the canopic jars and Guardian of the East. Circa 250 B.C. The Ptolemaic Era. Excellent Intact and Unrestored. in an excavated condition, the suspension holes still clogged with dirt. Some encrustation remains throughout but the detail is easily seen without further removal or risk of damaging such a lovely piece. This is a beautiful rare antiquity in very good unrestored condition. Height 8.7 cm or 3 3/8" inches, Weight 16.4 grams. Approximately 2250 Years Old. Faience is made from a ground quartz like material that is fired in a kiln to create wonderful blue and green colours. It creates a similar finish to glass. Ex-European Collection. Certificate Of Authenticity supplied plus a copy of the C.O.A. from previous collection owner . Here it is (on display in my Egyptian section) alongside my collection of 'Ushabtis' and Amulets.
