12.1g and 26mm. I can read the reverse - MHTΡOΠ KAICAΡEI, ETZ in exergue, so it's Cappadocia, Caesarea, but I'm not sure about the obverse. I think it's Severus Alexander - https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/coins/6/6840 What do you think?
Yes, Severus Alexander. I have a similar example from year 1: Severus Alexander, AD 222-235. Roman Provincial AE 25.0 mm, 10.37 g. Cappadocia, Caesarea, AD 222/3. Obv: ΑV Κ Μ ΑVΡ ϹЄΟΥ ΑΛЄΞΑΝΔΡ, laureate head, right; uncertain c/m behind. Rev: ΜΗΤΡΟΠ ΚΑΙϹΑΡΙ, agalma of Mount Argaeus surmounted by star, atop altar inscribed ЄTA (= year 1). Nice coin - I am especially fond of the countermark. I have a similar one, with an uncertain countermark. Note that the OP has a radiate bust, while mine and RC's are laureate - this confuses me on Roman provincials - while attributing provincials I often think I have it nailed down when I have the bust type wrong.
