My question is should I break the coins out and repackage. It is the 1981 Proof Set with LMC to SBA. The SBA & JFK are showing a white residue on the rims. Next question is how to open the mint plastic without damaging the coins? The pic's I took don't show what I see in hand
    Thanks for any help.

You're probably seeing a little haze on the coins. Repackaging probably isn't going to do anything about it. Usually the haze doesn't spread that much. I have some coins with haze that look the same and are at least 10 yrs old. I also tried dipping them once to no avail. The set doesn't cost too much. You could probably just buy a cleaner set off ebay for less than $10.

I guess I got it early enough. I put the coins with haze in acetone and then rinsed in distilled water and they have the original luster. When put side by side with other proof coins they appear identical. Thanks for the help.
