I found this penny in an old roll of pennies and It really looks like the 1969s Doubled Die to me, but im no expert and would appreciate any/all opinions/advice!! Also would like advice on where / who to sell coins too including this one.. Thanks all.. God Bless..
Looks good from what I see. I would compare it to pics you can find of a legit '69-S Doubled Die online, and spend a few bucks getting it verified. ANACS would be the cheapest for under $25.
Okay! Would someone mind posting the images of the valuable 1969-S Doubled Die so she can compare them? Chris
Nope... Not at all More like die deterioration doubling and/or Mechanical doubling but not Hub Doubling Here is another true Doubled Die 1969 S
Thank you for your reply and honesty.. The date looks exactly like the pics below, wish i could get better pics..
Not even close . Take a look at the real DDO . Now take a look at yours . Your mint-mark placement doesn't match the real DDO .
No... The Mint Mark was not part of the Hub Process. It was added afterwards so it can't be Doubled.. only Repunched! (RPM)
I know that. I was asking the OP since the photo isn't clear enough. If he said it was also doubled I was going to tell him that was the reason why his coin isn't the DDO.
The mintmark on the good 69 S DDO sometimes comes doubled as well from MDD. So you can't say that if the mintmark is doubled it isn't a DDO.
