Probus full silvering one side none the other, any ideas?

    I have not studied the coins of Probus as Martin has, but some of them are very attractive, especially when fully silvered. Here is one for each of the main obverse types he mentioned:

    All great coins, but that top one is fantastic.

    Carausius Brother, can you spare a sestertius?

    It happens. Maybe obverse was on the outside of the hoard and more impacted by elements, or more harshly cleaned than other side.
