The token illustrated below is presented for comment. Charlton PE6A3 Variant? OBVERSE Slight doubling @ lower right and bottom. Odd construction of the right upright; appears appended to the 'N' instead of a smooth transition. Oddly broken and misshapen at the right side of the upright of the 'E'. REVERSE Die crack @ 'ER'.
Interesting. I haven't seen many of these- just a few- so I have no intelligent comment to add. I saw PEI in the title and failed to read the date, so I clicked in thinking I was going to see one of the 1871 cents with the trees on the reverse. (I want to find one of those in Mint State, one day.) That wonky "N" is certainly neat looking.
I had to look this Token up . I never saw one like this . The token is interesting to say the least . The Mussels are great on the other hand .
It looks like a PE-6A3. The anomalies that you note are probably due to die deterioration and the D/C at the "R".
I too have not seen this coin before. Interesting anomalies that you point out, and great photos. Thank you for the post.
