Indeed it seems to be on backorder. The set didn't sell out in two minuets, but it appears to have sold out. I ordered one set. Tempted to order more (these things could well be popular) but my heart for the the game isn't in it. I'm happy with what I've got...... Not that you fellows shouldn't shag the public. Lord knows, I've done it......
I was with you, Ken. I bought only 1. Not to flip, but for me because I like the coin. As a couple of hours passed with the coins still available, I didn’t care, I had mine. Let the flippers have their day, they can have all of the stress that goes with it.
got my shipping notice for my 2 pack. I guess FedX will pick it up next week. Better yet I just checked Scheduled delivery: Wednesday 7/10/2019 by end of day I'll believe it when I sees it
And of course the TPG's (at least NGC) are identifying on the slab which set the coins came from. That means the ASE collectors that collect by label will need one of the less than 10,000 Canadian set ASE's. And of course in PF 70. Sounds like that will be the big money flipper.
This product is currently on back order. , Lightning killed my internet provider Method: UPS Ground Date Shipped: 07/3/19 well with any luck, ill get them Saturday. they have not left ups facility yet.
Question to Flippers: How in the world do you make any money? I tried selling selling stuff on eBay and didn't even break even. eBay fees are 9%, Paypal fees are 3%, that's 12% off the top right there. Then there's shipping which costs $15 minimum with registered mail, etc. and if you charge the customer for shipping eBay and Paypal both charge you the same % for what you charge in shipping fees. So if you buy a product like this for $140 from the Mint, even if you sell it for $177 on eBay which MIGHT have been a $37 gain, you make only $0.76 because of the 12% fees and the $15 shipping. So where is the profit? Are Flippers just math-challenged, or is there something I'm missing here?
Not much profit on these as you say. Last night the USA sets were selling for about $180. If you have a store your fees are 10%. First Class shipping about $6. So that seller only made around $15 profit. If he bought the HH limit of 5 he might make about $75. btw, I didn't buy any.
There may be more than one way to look at this purchase, as a collector first, I seen an opportunity to own unique set, so I talked myself into buying 2 because I had a pretty good suspicion they would sell out. also, ebay is not the only venue, there are thousand of ways to liquidate them, and if you pay that for shipping that's a fundamental mistake, also you are assuming people are going to use your methodology. I Might flip one or both, but paying my bills are not dependent on these sets. Ill be happy to keep them. if the opportunity comes, well I will consider it. "Are Flippers just math-challenged, or is there something I'm missing here" Would it make sense for a profitable flipper to tell you how they do it, so you can copy. I guess the thousands of flippers on ebay are math-challenged? and your not. Just a thought. not trying to argue with your logic, but it has to many holes and assumptions.
This product is on backorder now. At some point it will say, This product is currently unavailable. What happens to make this possible?
They ran out, even if there is a mintage limit, they don't produce them all unless demand requires, so now they have to continue production until they have more packaged to sell. it says expected date is aug 7 th I think it said when I put one in cart and checked.
Oh, ok, I thought the ones shipping in August were returns. I wonder how many more they have to make? Thanks.
I have placed a back order - will see if I get one. I did not buy to flip, this set was just something I wanted personally as my late mother was Canadian and Late Father American. Plus the finish was unique.
1. I was addressing Flippers - those intending only to make a profit - not collectors who don't mind keeping what they bought and IF a profit opportunity comes along down the line they may or may not take it. "Flippers" are ONLY in it for the profit. So, that was who my question was intended for. 2. If there are a thousand ways to liquidate them, that's what I want to know - the thousand ways. 3. "Would it make sense for a profitable flipper to tell you how they do it, so you can copy." Yes. A confident and successful one would. It's a mighty big country and there is plenty of business to go around. Good people who are successful are happy to pass their knowledge on to help others and don't fear that competition from a newbie will impact them in any way. I pass knowledge along to those starting out in areas in which I'm successful. I like to help others get a leg up and believe that there is more than enough business in this country to go around. eBay is HUGE and no successful Flipper will lose out by sharing some tips. 4. "I guess the thousands of flippers on ebay are math-challenged? and your not." Or they may be glad to be making $2 per sale and process 50 a day and are happy to make $100 bucks a day because they are either a woman at home with small children who doesn't want to work outside the home, or they are retired and just enjoy doing this to supplement their retirement savings, or they have tricks and tips so that they can make a lot more per per sale or they are happy to make $15 on a few hours worth of work because that money goes a long way where they live. In other words, I simply wanted to know more about flippers, what they do, their profits, their time invested, etc.
That makes a lot more sense to me now. Especially with them saving 3% on fees for an eBay store. Though if I would mail anything with a value over $100 I would put insurance and signature confirmation, like registered mail, or something of the sort, which all adds to the shipping cost. That's just me. So, I would lose $5 or more on all those post office "insurance" type features. Plus I'm on the East and now shipping to the West Coast cost a lot more than it used to, even First Class, even Priority Mail which used to have set prices, now it goes by some who convoluted system the USPS set up which is impossible to estimate. Anyway, thanks for all the info. It makes a lot more sense to me now.
To maximize your profit, you have to sell the stuff at local shows. That's how I do it (when I do it). I can't be bothered with the online nonsense..........
I was able to pick one of each set. A Canadian and U.S. I’d like to know for sure how the grading company’s will treat these sets. Will they be labeled different?
