@Michael Wuensch I've been searching since 2019, although covid shut my hunts completely down like March/April 2020, and read as much as I could on the W quarter releases information on the Internet. I'll find an article like this: https://www.govmint.com/coin-authority/post/united-states-mint-producing-2020-w-national-parks-quarters-with-V75-privy-marks Then: 1. American Samoa, Feb 3rd 2. Weir Farm, April 6 3. Salt River Bay, June 1st 4. MBR, Aug 31st 5. Tallgrass, Nov. 16th Then I find these: https://www.coinworld.com/news/precious-metals/adding-v75-privy-mark-means-2020-w-quarter-for-american-samoa-will-be-released-last https://www.coinworld.com/news/precious-metals/us-mint-details-distribution-for-first-2020-w-quarter-dollar First article says there will be a delay to Samoa Ws. On the 2nd article it announces it will release with Weir Farm. BUT this article, towards the bottom has some more interesting information... it has release cities for weir farm. If you dig in articles for 2019 or 2020 Ws release dates, release cities, And spend some time you can find the cities that got the deliveries of each design, even the dates, each design release period had 2 drops. The list of drop cities changes from coin to coin but there are lists for each one. It did me no good in 2020 with covid lock down and the coin shortage nonsense but the information is available. So, that's how I know these things. A lot of digging and reading and figuring out what the info means. As far as boxes with none, my theory is, the armored carriers the Fed calls "terminals" that hold these coins in each city for the federal reserve, do the rolling and distriubtion. Each "terminal" has their own warehouse method and techniques of inventory control as well as distribution procedures. One might work on FIFO and dump the whole pallet to be rolled at once and distributed right away after receiving it. If this is the case they would be found early and evenly distributed mostly in all boxes made from the ballistic bag pallet. Another might work on LIFO and not rotate and even have the sorting and rolling machine half full of circulated coins and top off with the ballistic bag pallet just dumping in the top of it and doing the other half on a 2nd run. And if that's the case then you have the top of bag boxes that are W heavy mixed with circulated coin and the 2nd half that have none or very few but all shiny new coin. Another might just make up some boxes from the pallet to get through the need for that day pulling scoops off the top and not rolling the entire ballistic bag pallet all at once Another might run the pallet's of quarters and make boxes and palletized then and rack them for future use and they are sitting there on the terminal shelf never seeing circulation because they keep re-rolling returned circulated coin and it meets their demand and the new stuff is stored if they ever actually need it and easily inventories and free of foreign coins. All kinds of ways they can do it, to them it's just work and quarters and inventory. The federal reserve went to contractors and "terminal distribution" at the end of the state quarters. From then on you couldn't go to your bank and order new rolls of a design for quarter's or presidential dollar coins anymore from banks, because the fed isn't doing it anymore, the armored carriers are and the banks just have to take whatever the carriers deliver, there's no more ordering specific new coin rolls. At this point my bank connections dried up. They all got shifted around to different branches, so I can't get boxes currently even though there no restrictions or "shortage". Restarting has been hard. I scored $60 in rolled coin last week and was happy to hunt a bit on the weekend even though it was just 4 rolls of quarters, 3 dimes, 2 nickels and 2 cents. It's a start at reestablishing. It's how I was doing it 30 years ago. Lol. Before covid I could get boxes and boxes each week no issue..... time to restart I suppose.
